Lieutenant Colonel Onyinyechi Anele has been named the Acting Director of Army Public Relations by the Nigerian Army.
She holds the role for the first time as a woman.
Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, who has been redeployed to the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, is replaced by Anele, a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a member of Direct Regular Course 15.
The date of her appointment is April 22, 2025.
Prior to her current assignment, Anele finished a six-month strategic training at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre and was posted to the Department of Civil-Military Relations.
She also previously served as Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Chief of Army Staff.
She worked for the Department of Civil-Military Relations prior to being promoted.
