Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a Kano State All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, has called former governor Nasir El-Rufai “an expired politician” who uses deceit, blackmail, and desperate measures to achieve his goals.
He claimed in a statement he personally released that Nigerians and political observers were aware of the falsehoods being spread by El-Rufai against President Bola Tinubu and others, and that the former governor’s political ploys had utterly failed.
El-Rufai’s actions were intended to weaken President Tinubu and other politicians in the run-up to the general elections in 2027, according to Kwankwaso.
Speaking about the 2027 presidential election, he claimed that no one could challenge the incumbent in the next round of voting because everyone vying for the office has been tried and failed in the past.
He clarified that El-Rufai’s political ploys had failed, citing the recent Kaduna State bye-election as proof of the former governor’s lack of acceptance and support from the general populace.
He cautioned El-Rufai that since everyone in the nation was aware of his evil tendencies, he could not use poverty, insecurity, and economic destruction to dissuade President Tinubu from running for office in 2027 the way he did with former President Jonathan in 2015.
