American boxer Jarrell Miller is excited to take on British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, who was born in Nigeria.
Jarrell Miller feels that he and Anthony Joshua have unresolved business. Miller will be back in the ring on June 7, 2025, to take on Fabio Wardley.
Keep in mind that Miller and Joshua were originally scheduled to fight in 2019, but the fight was called off due to the American boxer’s suspension from the sport for using a prohibited drug.
Joshua was replaced by Andy Ruiz Jr., who used the fight to establish himself by defeating the world heavyweight champion at the time.
Miller expressed his resolve to take on Joshua in an interview with IFL TV, saying, “There’s definitely unfinished business.” Although his team seems to indicate differently, I’ve heard he’s still interested in the fight. I genuinely want to have a big influence on his career if we do get to meet.
Miller also voiced his annoyance by praising Joshua’s prior performances and stating that he was excited to confront him. “This fight is really important to me; I truly want to win. Money doesn’t drive me; instead, I’m focused on competing with him.
However, Olympic gold medallist and two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is presently in Lagos, Nigeria, getting ready to resume training.
Joshua has not yet revealed his opponent as he plans his next move. He wants to win the world championship again before he retires.
According to promoter Eddie Hearn, Joshua may have one to three fights left in what may be his final year as a professional boxer. “This year is the last one. Let’s get right to the point,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
Joshua has had challenges in his quest for championship glory, such as recent defeats by Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk.
Plans for Joshua’s opponents are still unknown, but he seems to want a rematch with Dubois or a well-publicized fight versus Tyson Fury.
Remember how Fury declared his retirement earlier this year following back-to-back defeats by Usyk? However, his most recent training videos have sparked rumors that he might make a comeback.
