Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, responded to Ousmane Dembele defeating Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Messi congratulated the France international on his win and expressed his happiness for him.
Dembele and the Inter Miami attacker were formerly teammates when they were at Barcelona.
At the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on Monday, Dembele was declared the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner.
The Frenchman came in first on the list, followed by Yamal in second and Vitinha in third.
Following his victory, Dembele posted a picture from the occasion to his Instagram account, writing: “A lot of emotion, pride, and joy.” A realization of a dream. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me along the path. #ballondor.
Messi commented, “Great Ous!!!” on Dembele’s post. Congratulations! You have my sincere gratitude. You are deserving.
