Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of Spain’s national team, has expressed his belief that Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal will win a Ballon d’Or during his football career.
He advised the young Spanish player to maintain humility as he is still developing in the game.
In a media interview, the 63-year-old emphasized that the 17-year-old has a promising future.
„Er [Lamine Yamal] ist ein Spieler mit einer großartigen Zukunft, aber er entwickelt sich noch“, sagte er (via Tribal Football).
“To deserve the Ballon d’Or is a process. Besides, there are other players of very high quality.
“I’m uncertain whether he’ll clinch it in 2025, but I am confident he will win it. We must examine his competitors. ”
Yamal is anticipated to rival teammates like Raphinha, as well as players such as Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid, and Ousmane Dembele from Paris Saint-Germain for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Last season, as Barcelona clinched LaLiga and Copa del Rey titles, he scored 18 goals and delivered 25 assists in all competitions.
