One person was killed and an unspecified number of livestock stolen during a late-night attack by suspected bandits in Rimi Local Government Area, Katsina State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on December 20, targeting two Fulani settlement camps on the outskirts of Kauyen Gabas Village in the Karare District.
The armed assailants stormed the camps, fatally shooting one resident before fleeing with the animals. In response, troops and other security personnel were mobilized to the area to block escape routes and conduct cordon-and-search operations. The goal of the ongoing mission is to apprehend the perpetrators and recover the rustled livestock to prevent further instability in the district.
