Breaking: NEC meeting for Labour Party

The formal National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party (LP), led by Senator Nenadi Usman, is now meeting in Abuja.

Prominent party players, including Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, and a number of other important party figures, are present at the high-level meeting.

The establishment of an interim National Working Committee, or NWC, to direct the party’s activities while a National Convention is being held, is the main item on the agenda. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the NEC would establish a number of strategic committees, such as one to supervise the party’s nationwide membership revalidation process and another to organize upcoming party congresses at different levels.

According to party sources, the gathering marks a significant step in realigning the LP in advance of upcoming major events, such as the general elections in 2027.

Additionally present at the conference is Comrade Joe Ajaero, National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, or NLC.

A representative was dispatched by Chief Sylvester Ejiofor, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, or BoT.
