Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique, has claimed every team is motivated when they play against them.
Enrique stated this following his side’s shock 1-0 defeat to Botafogo on Thursday night at the Club World Cup.
The loss ended their unbeaten run in any competition since May 3.
In the 36th minute of the match, Igor Jesus netted the decisive goal by controlling a long pass and managing to send the ball past Gianluigi Donnaruma.
PSG ruled the match, amassing 16 shot attempts compared to Botafogo’s four. However, all of Botafogo’s attempts were on target, while PSG managed only two on net.
“Every team has motivation, particularly when they face our team,” Enrique stated.
“Our squad found it difficult to contend with their defense.
„Meiner Meinung nach gehört Botafogo zu den defensiv stärksten Mannschaften des Turniers.
“The big secret of this PSG team is being a great team that plays together, with everyone defending and attacking, which is why they compete and win.”
