The Concerned Youths Movement (CYM), an organization that promotes good governance in Oyo State, has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to look into Oyo State House of Assembly members as soon as possible.
According to CYM, this is required to clarify the events surrounding the state’s governor, Seyi Makinde, receiving a N300 billion loan.
According to our correspondent, there were rumors last week that the N300 billion loan for Makinde had been approved by the House of Assembly.
Ibraheem Shittu, who represents Saki West State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, made this announcement in a statement.
Controversies have arisen since the loan was approved.
The House did not have a quorum when the loan was approved, according to a statement issued by CYM and signed by its chairman, Pastor Tayo Adigun, and secretary, Alhaji Olaide Kobomoje.
It clarified that the loan was only approved by 13 of the 32 lawmakers.
During their speech, the group called the approval unlawful and void.
It further stated that the approval does not reflect the Assembly’s majority’s desire.
