The government of Benue State announced the formulation and adoption of an all-encompassing power sector policy designed to steer energy development and broaden electricity access for its population.
Barrister Omale Omale, the Commissioner for Power, Renewable Energy and Transport, revealed this during a press interaction in Makurdi on the occasion of his 50th birthday.
Omale stated that the policy, which acts as a blueprint for expanding power and energy services throughout the state, signifies a significant advancement in Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration’s efforts to transform infrastructure. He added, “Benue now possesses a well-defined power sector policy and a guide for enhancing energy access and extending power. We have already installed more than 7,000 streetlights in Makurdi and aim to replicate this achievement in other local government areas. ”
