Continuously Converting Macro Gains To Households—Oyedele

According to Taiwo Oyedele, the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, the process of transferring the macroeconomic advantages to households is still in progress. “Tax Reforms From Policy to Practice: Challenges and Opportunities for the Nigerian Haulage Industry” was the title of the 2025 edition of Haulage and Logistics Magazine’s Annual Conference and Exhibition, where Oyedele made this statement. He claims that because of the changes implemented during President Bola Ahmed’s administration, the federal government now has more money to pay off debt. Although unpleasant, these improvements have been essential. These reforms have caused a turnaround in the macro, which now earns significantly more than is required to service debt. The debt service today stands at less than 60%, he said. Although he admitted that basic necessities are expensive for homes, he emphasized that efforts are being made to translate the macro-level improvements to the micro-level. “There is a lot of transportation. Life is challenging. We have to admit that it is a fact. How to convert these macro results into micro outcomes for the household and individuals is the task and the top priority for our legislators and policy makers.
