Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he was hurt following his side’s Copa del Rey final defeat to Barcelona on Saturday night.
Ancelotti watched as Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 to win this year’s Copa del Rey.
Goals from Pedri, Ferran Torres Aurélien Tchouaméni and Kylian Mbappe ensured the game ended in a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.
Jules Kounde netted a goal during the extra time, securing victory for Hansi Flick’s team against the Los Blancos.
After the match, Ancelotti expressed that he was pained due to his team narrowly missing out on winning the Copa Del Rey.
Ancelotti stated, “In the second half, we were in control… and we did all that was possible. Since we did our best, I can’t fault the team.
“I’m hurt, it was so close. Victory was within our grasp.
“Now, we will concentrate on winning La Liga,” he added.
Real Madrid will now focus on LaLiga, where they are currently in second place, four points behind Barcelona, the leaders.
