Al Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo is set to commit his future to the club by signing a new massive contract, with one eye on the 2026 World Cup, Marca reports.
Ronaldo has agreed to stay with the Saudi Pro League side for two more seasons.
The second year is optional and will depend on performance and preference
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will remain in Riyadh through at least 2026 thanks to this agreement.
The length of time is ideal for his goals of representing Portugal in the World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Even though talks had been going on for a few months and early predictions suggested a quick resolution in January, the deal’s peculiarities caused a delay in the official certification.
The procedure will be more complicated than usual because, in contrast to a normal sports contract, this one will cover larger commercial, ambassadorial, and developmental functions.
Ronaldo’s new deal is reportedly worth up to €200 million annually.
