Customs explains issues with the system

The technical problem affecting the transmission of Product Certificates for Form M and SONCAP, which are necessary for PAAR processing on the B’Odogwu platform, has been fixed by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Concerning the difficulties they encountered in transmitting product certifications needed for PAAR processing on the B’Odogwu platform, importers and authorized customs officers have voiced their concerns.

In May 2025, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recognized the challenges encountered since the introduction of the new Customs Unified Management Information System, or B’Odogwu, and emphasized that these problems were expected.

All imports into Nigeria must include the PAAR paperwork. It is an electronic report that is submitted before arrival and contains information about the imported items, their worth, and other pertinent details. This speeds up the port clearing procedure. In a statement released on Thursday, Assistant Comptroller of Customs (ACC) Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer of NCS, revealed that the technical problem has been completely fixed and that PAAR certificate transmission has resumed.
