On Wednesday, October 29, the third day of the 2025 Lagos State Secondary Schools Handball Championship (Opeifa Cup) featured a feast of goals, drama, and outstanding performances from both the senior and junior ladies’ divisions. The competition continued in spectacular manner. While Creek Senior High School defeated Cardoso Senior High School 2-1 in a fiercely contested match that had spectators on the edge of their seats, Keke Senior High School lost 1–3 to a well-behaved CMS Grammar School team in the senior girls’ division. After a hard-fought 1-1 draw with United Christian College in their first game, Jagunmolu Girls recovered brilliantly to defeat Girls Senior High School 5-1 later in the day.In another match, Government College Agege and Lagos City College drew 1-1, and then Government College made a comeback with a close victory of 1-0 over United Christian College in a close, strategic match. The contests for the junior females were just as interesting. Herbert Macaulay Junior High School defeated Igbobi Junior High School by a slim margin of 1-2, while Ikeja Junior Girls and Government College ended in a scoreless draw of 0-0. However, in their subsequent match, Government College came back with a resounding 3-1 victory over Dolphin Junior SchoolAdditionally, Muslim Junior College and United Christian Junior School put on strong performances, defeating Okesuna Junior School and Greek Junior School by a combined score of 10–0. Later, Dolphin Junior School easily defeated Ikeja Junior Girls 5–0, and United Christian Junior School completed a flawless day by defeating Government College 3–0. As teams compete for qualifying slots, the competition is still gaining traction, and more excitement is anticipated in the days to come.
