Following the kidnapping of Hon. Denty Laven Jacob, the member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing the Pankshin South Constituency, more information has surfaced. Unknown gunmen kidnapped Jacob from his home in the Dong area, a community in the state’s Jos North Local Government Area, on Monday, according to BASEMEDIA.
Kidnapers and other criminal elements are now common in the area.
Despite the fact that the state’s government, police, and other security forces have not issued a statement, a family member told BASEMEDIA on condition of anonymity on Tuesday morning that Jacob was kidnapped after returning home from a trip with some friends.
The lawmaker’s family member claimed that the kidnappers must have followed him from the location of his outing with his friends.
As of right now, we don’t know anything about Hon. Denty Laven Jacob’s condition, and his kidnappers haven’t contacted his family to demand a ransom.
When the gateman opened the gate for him to drive in, the gunmen got out of their car and swept him off, which is why we believe he was being followed from the place where he had gone to hang out with his friends.
“Dong is getting really risky these days. A well-known food vendor on social media and her brother, a corps member, were abducted in the same Dong just last week. Their family reportedly paid a ransom to free them.
The family member stated, “This shocking incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity that has plagued Plateau State in recent months.”
