During the weekend, the Regional Trade Facilitation Committee (RTFC) of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) commenced a facility tour of Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) located in Tin-Can Island, Lagos. The purpose of this tour was to gain insight into how the indigenous online platform developed by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), known as B’Odogwu, affects the economy of Nigeria.
At the conclusion of the tour, the ECOWAS Trade Facilitation Committee commended Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of Customs, for his innovative approach in launching the Unified Customs Management System, referred to as B’Odogwu.
During a visit of the RTFC to PTML Command, which was the pilot area for the B’Odogwu implementation, Kolawole Sofola, the Director of Trade at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), commended Adeniyi and PTML Command for their significant accomplishments in trade facilitation and revenue collection since the project’s initiation.
