The House of Representatives Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation has shown its willingness to work with Egbin Power Plc to enhance its performance, in order to bolster the nation’s power sector.
During an oversight visit to the plant, the House Committee, under the leadership of its Chairman Hon. Hamisu Ibrahim, expressed this commitment and emphasized that collaboration with stakeholders in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) is essential for enhancing power generation.
The visiting lawmakers, along with Mr. Ayo Gbeleyi, the Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), and his team, were welcomed by Mokhtar Bounour, the CEO of Egbin Power, and members of the management team.
The Committee received a general introduction to the plant and was subsequently guided on a tour of the facility. The tour included other Committee members such as Hon. Abdulmaleek Danga, Hon. Shehu Dalhatu, Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, Hon. Sa’ad Wada Taura, and Hon. Ganiyu Ayuba.
