Kevin De Bruyne, a playmaker for Manchester City, may make an unexpected summer transfer to Aston Villa.
De Bruyne will be a free agent at the end of this season, and the Midlands club is reportedly mulling a bid for him, according to Sky Sports.
It is thought that Villa has previously discussed signing the 33-year-old internally.
MLS teams like Inter Miami, Chicago Fire, D.C. United, and NYCFC will compete with them, though.
After nearly ten years with City, De Bruyne has already declared his intention to go.
The Belgian’s contract was not extended by the Premier League champions, and it is now unclear if he will join Villa this summer, like Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, or another team.
De Bruyne, who has won a staggering 16 trophies at City, including six Premier League crowns and the Champions League, has been persuaded by Roy Keane to join rivals United.
