Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has given his verdict on Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund.
Shearer insisted that the 22-year-old is a damaged player, adding that he is not ready to lead the Red Devils’ attacking line.
This comes following Manchester United’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Wolves at the weekend.
On Match of the Day 2, Shearer stated, “I’m looking at a damaged player in Hojlund.”
“He wasn’t and isn’t ready, in my opinion, to be the captain of a team like Manchester United.
“I’m seeing a player right now who doesn’t really want to get in there, despite three Premier League goals.”
Højlund hasn’t made an impression at Old Trafford since leaving Serie A team Atalanta to join Manchester United.
This season, the Denmark international has three Premier League goals and five Europa League goals.
