Before their important Premier League match against Newcastle United this Sunday, Arsenal has gained a triple injury boost.
After last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool, Mikel Arteta’s team needs just one more point to guarantee their qualification for next season’s Champions League.
Mikel Merino, who received a red card at Anfield for two bookings, will be absent from the Gunners’ lineup.
Due to a one-match ban, Merino will not be available for the Magpies’ visit.
However, Declan Rice was seen in training on Wednesday morning with the rest of the team. A muscle injury caused him to miss the trip to Liverpool.
Leandro Trossard, who was replaced during the match, also took part in the session.
Kai Havertz’s return also provided a boost for Arsenal. The German has not been operational since January.
While Havertz had netted 16 goals across all competitions, he suffered a hamstring tear during warm-weather training in Dubai.
