Former Arsenal star Julio Baptista has urged manager Mikel Arteta to consider signing Wolves striker Matheus Cunha for the Gunners in the summer transfer window.
Baptista believes the 25-year-old would score more goals for Arteta’s side.
Cunha has been impressive for Wolves this season, scoring 16 goals and registering four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
In 2023, the Brazilian reportedly paid €50 million to join Wolves from Atletico Madrid.
“People talk about Matheus Cunha, the Brazilian,” Baptista stated in an interview with Football Italia (via Caught Offside). He has accomplished amazing things at Wolves, so perhaps he is the player Arsenal needs.
“They need to take a look at him, I think. Without a doubt, Cunha ought to be on their shortlist. Given the opportunities Arsenal creates and how they dominate most games, you would assume he would score even more goals at Arsenal, where he has excelled in a squad that has struggled at times this season.
