EPL: He enjoys relying on his gut. Walcott, a former Arsenal player, slams ArtetaP

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has come under fire from former player Theo Walcott, who claims that the Spaniard prefers to follow his gut.

Speaking, the former England international urged Arteta to choose his team wisely and recommended that Eberechi Eze, the club’s summer acquisition, be included right away in his starting lineup for the Gunners’ upcoming game.

This follows Arsenal’s recent 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Remember how Eze replaced Gabriel Martinelli in the second half at Anfield after coming off the bench, helping the Reds win all three points against Arsenal?

Walcott stated on the most recent episode of It’s Called Soccer that “Arteta has options everywhere now because the club really backed him,” but he prefers to stick to his gut feeling that “we need to stay in the game.”

“Up until a certain point, it was working, but that’s when you start making substitutions a little earlier. [Eberechi] Eze accomplished a lot more with his first two touches than [Gabriel] Martinelli!”

“Play them right away,” I stated a few weeks ago when Jack Grealish joined Everton and started the first game on the bench.
