Gabriel Martinelli, the winger for Arsenal, has responded to rumors regarding the Premier League team’s interest in signing Nico Williams from Athletic Club.
Mikel Arteta, manager of the Gunners, aims to strengthen his squad with a minimum of two new forwards during the summer.
Should the transfer go through, Williams—who likes to play on the left flank of the attack—will be a direct rival to Martinelli for a spot in Arteta’s starting eleven next season.
Nevertheless, Martinelli has asserted his preparedness to take on the challenge of competing against the Spaniard.
He stated to reporters: “We are Arsenal players – we compete every day.
“The club aims to recruit the best players globally, as it is among the largest clubs worldwide. It is something we are accustomed to.
“We are a major club. We must include the top players. It will make me very happy when we have big players joining the team.
