Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, has posted a farewell message to Trent Alexander-Arnold after the defender confirmed he would be leaving at the end of the season.
Alexander-Arnold has rejected a new contract with his boyhood club and is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old has been with the newly-crowned Premier League champions since he was six.
Since coming through the academy, Alexander-Arnold has won eight major honours with Liverpool.
The England international labeled his upcoming departure the “hardest decision of his life” and emphasized that he will keep supporting Liverpool, even though he will be playing elsewhere.
For the past eight years, Salah has developed a robust partnership with Alexander-Arnold on the right flank of Liverpool’s attack, and he opted to reminisce about the good times on Monday.
It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you. I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again,” he posted on Instagram alongside a succession of photos of the two of them playing together for Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold replied with two love heart emojis and the words “big bro”.
