Eradication of Polio: Organization pledges to bolster efforts in Nigeria

Rotary International has declared that the complete eradication of Polio in Nigeria is a non-negotiable goal.
This commitment was highlighted by Rotary Public Image Coordinator Ibim Semenitari ahead of a high-level, week-long visit to Nigeria (November 1–7, 2025) by Rotary Foundation Chairman and past International President, Holger Knaack, and his spouse.
Semenitari stated the visit is specifically designed to strengthen the Polio fight and advance health initiatives, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to polio eradication, disease prevention, and the protection of women and children.
During his time in the country, Mr. Knaack plans to meet with Nigerian Rotary leaders, government officials, and partners, including the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
Echoing this dedication, Rotary International President-Elect Yinka Babalola emphasized the broader mission: “Our shared goal is not only to end polio but to build lasting systems that keep families healthy and strong.”
