Every year, textbook changes put parents through more hardship, according to Oguntoyinbo

According to Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), parents and guardians are suffering more as a result of the annual text book changes.

Speaking on Tuesday, Oguntoyinbo counseled Mr. Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, and other education sector stakeholders to stop this kind of behavior.

In a statement provided to BASEMEDIA, the NNPP chieftain made these claims.

He claimed that the practice of both government and private schools switching up their textbooks every term has compelled parents to constantly purchase new books for various classes.

Siblings used their elders’ textbooks during our time. Parents are moaning in agony, so I’m pleading with the government to stop switching textbooks every term or year.

“Since parents are suffering greatly, I urge the State Governors and the Education Minister to break this habit. In order to assist parents, I also urge the federal and state governments to subsidize the cost of textbooks.
