Mr. Bala Wunti, a former Chief Upstream Investment Officer at NNPC Upstream Investment Services (NUIMS), has left the national oil company, with a formal handover ceremony to Akpabio Essien, the acting Head of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
During a farewell event at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Friday, Wunti, who has retired as Chief HSE Officer, reflected on his long-standing service at the NNPC and asserted that he did his best for the oil company.
Wunti emotionally reminisced about his beginnings at the Eleme Petrochemical Complex in Rivers state, describing himself as ‘a young, hopeful, perhaps a little naive’ employee and emphasizing that he learned essential lessons in discipline, teamwork, and resilience there.
He concluded with a tenure at the Group HSE Division and remarked that these experiences constituted chapters in his ongoing commitment to the company’s advancement, underpinned by its fundamental values of integrity, excellence, and sustainability.
