Experts urge caution regarding the $3 billion investment in telecom infrastructure

As Nigeria looks forward to telecommunications investments exceeding $3 billion (N4.7 trillion), experts have urged caution.

According to them, although the investment would enhance internet access for millions of Nigerians, excessive regulation could undermine the intended investment.

According to Daily Trust, Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has announced that Nigeria will obtain telecommunications equipment and fibre optic infrastructure worth $3 billion in June.
He recently spoke during a panel session at the Nigeria Development Update (NDU) event organized by the World Bank in Abuja.
