FCT: Illegal occupants will be turned away; I won’t tolerate criminal activity, Wike

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced Monday that all unauthorized residents of the capital city would be expelled.

Wike declared that he would not tolerate criminal activity in the FCT under any pretense.

He pointed out that in the FCT, poverty shouldn’t be a pretext for crime and kidnapping.

He gave assurances that the FCT Administration is committed to securing the city during his monthly ministerial press briefing.

He pointed out that the government has never been able to fully address poverty anywhere in the world.

“Those who claim ownership of this land, why aren’t you developing it?” Wike asked. We will ensure that all occupants who are not authorized are removed. It is regrettable because security is crucial.

“No government should exist if it is unable to ensure the safety of its people.

We must exercise caution when it comes to poverty. There are places in China and around the world where poverty is evident, but that does not give you the right to make people uncomfortable or abduct them. No, that is not acceptable, so let no one use the poverty issue as a justification.

We have the mindset that the government must handle everything. I will not tolerate criminal activity under any pretense.
