Dr. Mathew Adepoju, the Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), urged the private sector to engage with the “space economy,” the fastest-growing economic sector worldwide, expected to reach an annual value of $1 trillion by 2030.
Adepoju noted that the sector currently generates $500 billion annually and urged industry leaders in Nigeria, Africa, and globally to invest in the sector and profit from it.
He said: “This is the fourth industrial revolution and Africa must not play a back side role. It is high time for us to take our rightful position on the seat of Global Innovation, Science and Technology, in which space technology is the peak of human endeavor and the cutting edge of innovations
