Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has once more authorized the appointment of four commissioner-nominees to the State Executive Council.
According to BASEMEDIA, the nominees have now increased the number of commissioners nominated and appointed to 26.
The names of the nominees will be sent to the Edo State House of Assembly for review and approval, according to a statement released by the State Government’s secretary, Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor.
Ikhilor announced that Dr. Jerry Uwangue, Dr. Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, Barr. Usenbo Paul Ehigie, and Akhigbe Osi John Sunday were among the nominees.
Dr. Kenneth Okoruwa Ihensekhien, one of the nominees, served as the Edo State House of Assembly’s Minority Leader from 1999 to 2003. He also served as the previous Commissioner for Youth & Sports, Energy & Water Resources, Agriculture & Natural Resources, and special adviser on project monitoring.
From 2018 to 2020, he was the Governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff and the APC National Chairman’s Principal Private Secretary.According to BASEMEDIA, nine nominees have already been sworn in, while eight have been vetted and approved by the State House of Assembly.
