Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has authorized the recruitment of an additional 2,600 forest guards to bolster ongoing security operations in the Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts.
According to a statement released Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Olayinka Fafoluyi, the new personnel will join the 700 forest guards previously deployed, who are already working in collaboration with security forces to tackle banditry and restore calm in affected areas.
The statement added that the recruits, set to begin training this week, will receive advanced military instruction, including the use of sophisticated weaponry and modern tactics for confronting security threats.
It further emphasized that this intensified recruitment reflects the governor’s determination to enhance the state’s security framework and eliminate criminal activity to ensure lasting peace in Kwara.
