Governor Yusuf authorizes the hiring of 4,315 Kano teachers.

The Kano State Government has formally recruited 4,315 teachers into its civil service, in line with Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf’s commitment to revitalizing education in the state.

Speaking during the induction ceremony in Kano, the governor explained that the new recruits had previously served as interns but were now offered permanent and pensionable appointments. He described the development as a demonstration of his administration’s strong belief that education is the foundation for societal progress.

Governor Yusuf charged the teachers to approach their duties with passion, integrity, and dedication, emphasizing their role in shaping the character and future of Kano’s children.

He further revealed that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been approved to recruit an additional 2,616 qualified teachers. The aim, he said, is to meet the prescribed teacher–pupil ratio and raise educational standards across the state.

The governor also highlighted ongoing reforms, including the construction of new schools, rehabilitation of existing structures, distribution of learning materials across all 44 LGAs, and the promotion of thousands of teachers.
