Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the legislator for Kogi Central, expressed concern Thursday about the raid on her family’s home in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State, by a group of armed men.
This was revealed by the senator in a statement sent by her media staff in Abuja.
Her grandfather’s house was broken into and damaged by the gunman on Tuesday, she claims.
However, the story claims that security personnel repulsed the onslaught.
“My younger brother took some contractors to my hometown in Ihima two days ago to inspect locations for upcoming projects that I attracted to my senatorial district,” the statement said in part. That night, the unidentified shooters assaulted my family’s home, thinking I was the one in town.
Fortunately, the community members and civil defense team arrived quickly and drove them away. No one was harmed, and the police area command was notified. We implore the Inspector General of Police to restore my security details right away.
The statement said that the lawmaker’s commitment to her constituency should not be met with violence or intimidation, and it asked the public to maintain composure and support her quest for justice.
