Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared that he will occupy the governor’s seat for six more years.
The governor made the declaration while addressing supporters, as captured by a video clip shared on Facebook on Wednesday by his social media aide, Asorta James.
The governor also revealed that a citizen of Tiv descent wrote him a letter encouraging him to continue.
“I just received a one-liner letter from someone, and I think it’s from my Tiv brother,” he said.
“Dear Levelend Father,” the speaker said. “You know, we Tivs don’t really distinguish between the L and R sounds, but the listener must understand whichever you call it.”
“Dear Levelend Father, ahead, ahead, ahead,” the person said. “I responded by writing Amen six times for the remaining six years I have left in this government.” This occurs as opposition leaders plot to remove Alia from office through the 2027 election.
