The September 2025 Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) savings bonds, which offer investors alluring interest rates of up to 16.541% annually, were launched yesterday, according to the Debt Management Office (DMO).
On Monday, September 1, 2025, the subscription window opened, and it will end on Friday, September 5, 2025.
The date of the settlement is September 10, 2025. Investors will receive coupon (interest) payments on a quarterly basis on March 10, June 10, September 10, and December 10.
The announcement was posted on the DMO’s website in a notice.There are two subscription categories for the bond: a two-year bond with an annual interest rate of 15.541 percent that will mature on September 10, 2027, and a three-year bond with an annual interest rate of 16.541 percent that will mature on September 10, 2028.
In September 2025, the interest rate on a 2-year bond increased from 14.401% in August to 15.541%. Likewise, in September, the 3-year bond saw a rise to 16.541% from 15.401% the month before.
