The recent local government election in Rivers State has drawn criticism from Jake Epelle, the CEO of TAF Africa, who called it a democratic fraud.
In response to inquiries during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Epelle made this claim on Monday.
He claimed that because the exercise was carried out by a democratically elected government, it was completely unconstitutional.
The events that transpired in Rivers State on Saturday can only be characterized as unprecedented political maneuvering, which is somewhat of a sham, and what appears to be a democratic scam. It is regrettable that we are living in interesting times, particularly in terms of politics.
To support that point, I say that. Everything about this Saturday’s election, in my opinion, was completely unlawful and unconstitutional.
“We Rivers State residents are intelligent and civilized. They most likely believed that people would take to the streets, and I did urge everyone to avoid falling into their trap, especially the good young people of Rivers State.We cannot keep going in the same direction, and it is a complete slap in the face of the people of Rivers State,” he continued.
