According to a National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data, the average retail price for refilling a 5 kilogram cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (cooking gas) dropped by 0.96% month over month from N8,323.95 in June 2025 to N8,243.79 in July 2025.

However, according to the study, the price went up 37.98% from the N5,974.55 in July 2024. According to a state profile research, Adamawa had the highest average cost of N9,011.36 for refilling a 5 kg cylinder of cooking gas (liquefied petroleum gas), followed by Rivers at N9,005.00 and Taraba at N8,945.43.

However, with a price of N7,612.00, Yobe had the lowest price, followed by Niger and Nasarawa, with N7,662.00 and N8,000.25, respectively.Zone-by-zone analysis revealed that the South-South had the highest average retail price (N8,511.26) for refilling a 5 kg cylinder of cooking gas (liquefied petroleum gas), followed by the South-East (N8,321.16) and the South-West (N8,073.92).
