The Commissioner of Police for Kwara State, Adekimi Ojo, has instructed a complete investigation into reported incidents of extortion by some police officers of the command along the Osi-Eruku highway in the Kwara South Senatorial District of the state.
A statement released by the spokesperson for the command, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, in Ilorin on Tuesday, noted that “the Command is aware of a video recording being shared on social media that claims police officers on duty were involved in an act of extortion along the Osi-Eruku road in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.”
“The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, has ordered an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the incident.”
“If the officers who are involved are identified and proven to be guilty, fitting disciplinary measures will be implemented.”
The spokesperson also added that: “The Command remains dedicated to maintaining professional standards, integrity, and accountability across all its activities.”
