The Lagos Women Run’s organizers were commended on Thursday by Lekan Fatodu, Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, for celebrating their tenth anniversary. “The run has distinguished itself as a platform celebrating women’s strength and resilience,” Fatodu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos. As the only recognized gender-based athletics competition, he said the event promoted women’s boundless potential in society. According to Fatodu, Lagos is proud to be home to a movement that affects all facets of society and goes beyond sports.He pointed out that “One Run, a Thousand Opportunities,” this year’s theme, is both relevant and significant. According to Fatodu, the Lagos Women Run has grown from a small fitness competition to become one of the most inclusive gatherings for women in Nigeria and abroad. According to Tayo Popoola, the race’s coordinator, ladies from all over the world will attend the tenth anniversary. According to her, the milestone shows how sustainable the event is, with strong backing from the Lagos State Government.
