According to the DAILY POST, Jerome Akor boasted about his Sevilla victory over Rayo Vallecano.
In the 1-0 victory at the Campo de Fútbol de Valllecas, Akor scored the game-winning goal for the Rojiblancos after coming off the bench.
Three minutes from time, the 24-year-old blasted home from within the box.The former Nigerian junior international scored his first goal for Sevilla this season.
Akor claimed that despite constant pressure from the hosts, his team never gave up.
“I was ready and worked hard when I had the chance to come in, and I’m really appreciative of the chance. We persisted,” Akor said on the club’s official website.
This weekend, Matias Almeyda’s team will play their next league match against holders Barcelona.
