Lamine Yamal, the Barcelona winger, expressed gratitude to the club’s former manager, Xavi, for providing him with the chance to debut for the Blaugrana in previous times.
After guiding Barcelona to victory in the 2024/25 LaLiga title on Thursday, the Spain international spoke.
Remember that Yamal and Fermin Lopez scored two goals, leading Hansi Flick’s team to a 2-0 victory over Espanyol in LaLiga.
Speaking after the match, Yamal noted that without Xavi he won’t have won the the LaLiga title.
“I’d like to thank Xavi, without him this was not gonna be possible,” Yamal said after the game as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“He gave us young players the opportunity to make our debuts.”
The 17-year-old added, “I would like to thank him.”
Xavi is a Barcelona legend who has played for the Catalan club as a player and also coached them in the past.
