Benue State Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia officially performed the groundbreaking for the BIPC Eco-City Estate, which is located in Makurdi at the former BBL Quarters.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing affordable housing for citizens throughout the state through his deputy, Barr. Sam Ode, mni.
He emphasized that his overarching objective is to transform Makurdi into a premier urban hub, adding that road infrastructure would be established to link the new estate for convenience.Governor Alia praised the Benue Investment and Property Company’s (BIPC) leadership and urged investors and indigenous people to invest in the project, calling it a significant turning point for the state’s housing industry. The development will include 70 duplexes under phases one and two of the Eco-City scheme, with a third phase aimed at low-income earners, according to Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, Group Managing Director of BIPC.
