Man falls from 26-storey Cocoa House in Ibadan

In Ibadan, Oyo State, a guy who has not yet been recognized is said to have fallen from one of the upper stories of the 26-story Cocoa House skyscraper.

The tragedy happened early on Monday morning and sent the entire business sector into a panic.

“When the incident occurred, I initially thought it was a large bird falling from the sky,” one of the witnesses stated.

“I didn’t realize it was a human being until the individual landed.

“I was so shocked that even though I had my phone with me, I was unable to record anything.”

“The victim first struck a roof next to the building’s security post before landing on the ground,” stated another witness. The image was horrifying.

The investigation is still ongoing, and as of the time of writing, the details behind the regrettable incident were still unclear.

In the meantime, the incident was verified in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan, the state capital, by Odu’a Investment Company Limited, the company in charge of Cocoa House.

“The person involved was promptly attended to by the emergency response team and taken to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for urgent medical attention,” said Victor Ayetoro, the company’s Head of Branding and Communication, who approved the statement.

He continued, “The company assured the public that it would fully cooperate with authorities looking into the cause of the fall and expressed deep concerns over the development.”
