Maureen Apute, the lady captain of TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club, won the 2025 NOG Energy Week Golf Tournament, which took place over the weekend at the club’s picturesque Abuja course.

The competition kicked off 2025 NOG Energy Week, creating a laid-back yet lively atmosphere for the week-long meeting of the oil and gas sector. Golfers, business leaders, and stakeholders gathered at TYB, which is tucked away in the Federal Capital Territory, for a day of celebration, networking, and sports.

With a gross score of 82 and a net score of 64, Apute, who was playing with a handicap of 18, won the overall best net title. In addition to her outstanding performance, she won a slew of special awards, including nearest the pin (12 feet) and longest drive (222 meters) for women.Isaiah Okonofua achieved the highest gross score of 73 in the men’s division. After both returned a net score of 65, Kareem Mumuni narrowly defeated Aletor Adoghe on countback to win the net competition. Adoghe also made an impression with a gross of 75 while playing off a handicap of 10. With a net score of 67, George Ibinabo defeated Ejike Njeze on countback to take second place.
