A purported voice tape of Sam Larry, a Nigerian music promoter and artist Zlatan Ibile, talking about the circumstances surrounding the death of the late musician Mohbad has been uploaded by Vincent Otse Martins, a Nigerian social media activist who goes by the handle VeryDarkMan.
Zlatan Ibile appears to be chatting with Sam Larry in Yoruba on the recording that has gone viral. Zlatan mentioned the drama that comes with speaking out on social media and stated that he was reluctant to become engaged in the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death.
Zlatan has been given 48 hours to publicly address the matter and provide an explanation for his silence during the initial calls for Mohbad’s justice by VeryDarkMan, who posted the tape on his Instagram page.
The social media activist further responded to criticism about revisiting the case, stating that they are not genuine in their desire for justice. He emphasised his commitment to seeking justice for Mohbad, highlighting that the singer is yet to be buried.
He also criticised those who allegedly knew the truth but used intimidation to suppress it.
He said, “I am going to be playing a voice recording between Zlatan and Sam Larry, during the time Mohad died, now i expect in 48hrs Zlatan will come out to explain what he knows and why he did not speak out when we were seeking justice for Mobad. Secondly I see a lot of comments saying, VDM why did you bring this case back, it shows a lot of you are ingrates, I deliberately brought this case back because i see a lot of you have moved on, that is why our government cannot take us seriously because we are so quick to move on.”
“I truly want justice for the youngster; he hasn’t been buried and his spirit is still alive. Some people knew the truth, but they used bullying and distraction to hide it, and you Zlatan remained silent.
I don’t bring up the case again with anyone who doesn’t understand, but if you ask me why I brought it up again, you’re not a real person. You want the matter to be dropped, and you claim that you wanted the boy to have justice. Many of you are fake, and you are all fake.
Some internet users encouraged Zlatan to give his side of the tale, while others defended his silence.
