Shortly after the 2025 pilgrimage ended, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) began planning for the 2026 hajj exercise.
Shortly after returning from Saudi Arabia, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, the Commission’s chief executive officer, revealed this to reporters in Kano on Thursday.
As evidence of a successful 2025 Hajj activity, Prof. Usman cited the encouraging comments from pilgrims and important stakeholders, such as members of the National Assembly Committees on Foreign Affairs and Hajj Affairs.
“This year’s Hajj taught us a lot, and we plan to deliver a better and more efficient operation in 2026,” the NAHCON chief promised.
Because Saudi Arabian officials have set a strict deadline to finalize all logistical plans for the 2026 pilgrimage, Prof. Usman encouraged anyone who plan to travel to start the registration process early.
“The Saudi authorities have given us explicit instructions that they will not wait for any nation to make last-minute arrangements. “They want all logistics to be finished as soon as possible,” he stated.
He added that NAHCON is now requesting authorization to release the 2026 Hajj price and urged all prospective pilgrims to sign up as soon as possible.
