Naira Marley cautions young people in Nigeria about sports betting.

Rapper and singer Azeez Fashola, better known by his stage name Naira Marley, has cautioned young people against over-betting on sports.

The crooner of “Tesumole” emphasized that gambling is not a profession. Youths in Nigeria were counseled by Naira Marley to quit “wasting” their money on sports wagering.

He added, “Football bet no be work bro,” on his X handle. Before they finish you, please stop.

Naira Marley’s counsel comes as worries about the effects of sports betting on young people in Nigeria are growing.

Nigeria was the continent’s leading sports betting country in early 2025, according to a Business Insider Africa article.

According to the survey, 70 percent of Nigerians aged 30 and younger are active bettors, with 168.7 million people playing the game.
