Nigerians have rejected the PDP, leaving it in ruins; the APC responds

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors have come under fire from the All Progressives Congress (APC), which claims they are hypocritical and have failed their party and the people. The reaction followed remarks made by PDP governors in the run-up to the 2027 elections, in which they criticized the APC for alleged undemocratic practices.

APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka signed a statement on Monday in which the party called the PDP a party in a deep coma, severely crippled by an unsolvable crisis of its own making.

The APC claims that the results of the bye-election demonstrate that Nigerians no longer trust the opposition.

PDP governors are making remarks that only serve to emphasize their own downfall, which is absurd coming from a party that has been crippled by its own problems and is hardly recognizable from its former self. Nigerians have rejected the PDP and it has collapsed into ruin. They waste time making unfounded accusations against our great Party instead of concentrating on revitalizing their failing party.

The party cited the public’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration as evidenced by its recent wins in bye-elections in states like Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano.

President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope policies are clearly having an impact on Nigerians, as evidenced by the APC’s resounding victory in the recently concluded bye-elections, the statement said.

According to the statement, PDP governors only celebrate democracy in states they have won while denouncing it in those they have lost.

“The APC stated that the PDP’s or other opposition parties’ win or loss is not and cannot be used as a gauge for assessing the legitimacy of our nation’s electoral process.”
